Amazing that wifi has become a necessity!
I complained about a place I stayed at last summer because all they had was hard wired cat 5 connections that didn't work at all well with a tablet.

I'd have stayed in Indianapolis. Supposed to be 107 today!

Blue Knights had held onto sixth place most of the season with occasional flirtations with fifth. Last year they went into the finals in seventh place and were devastated when they finished eighth. So they finished in sixth place this year and they are happy with that. It was their highest finish ever. The big drama came at first place. Blue Devils (last year's champion) and Carolina Crown seesawed between first and second place all season. To my untrained eye, Carolina Crown had the better show. When the Blue Devils finished in fourth place at the prelims Thursday night, everybody thought it was a done deal that Carolina Crown would finish first. But Saturday night when they announced final scores, Blue Devils had vaulted over Carolina Crown. I haven't been to the Drum Corps International facebook page yet, but it is probably in meltdown. Many in the DCI community think the fix is in.
As we did last year, we spent Saturday night at a hotel and then drove back yesterday. 900 miles and I drove it all. What a beating.
Pictures to follow.

I feel your pain; it is a little over a 1,000 miles back to College Station; we make that drive on Sundays on the home football games we make. Trying to figure out the best way to make the first game at Marshall this year; I really don't want to drive it, but I don't want to fly either. Wife can't make the trip because of her volleyball commitments.
Congrats on the Blue Knights finish. Improvement is always a good thing.

Final assembly for awards ceremony. Blue Knights are between the 20 and the 30 on the right side.

Wow! I never expected that they would be so many different groups competing.

There are 22 World Class corps. They all go to Indianapolis and perform in the prelims and the semifinals. The 12 corps with the highest scores compete in the finals.
