Remembering the Old Digest
Re: Remembering the Old Digest
I had prepared a nice, long, thoughtful post and when I hit submit.....poof. That's kinda why I don't post much.
Anyway, millersgrovesue used to be Sue In MilersGrove.
The "inner circle" was named by someone, in a huff, who left for the second time. Funny, his wife was a really nice person. Son posted a lot too.
The fun subsided when the vitriol in politics started towards the end of the Clinton administration, then spiraled downward ever since. The intolerance of some is just too much.
I met Hopper at an On Tap gig in Richardson. Nice guy. He said "you don't actually take any of the **** seriously, do you?" Yeah, he LOVES to get under people's skin. He's that burr in the saddle.
Bubba thought he ran the board. Yes, I agree with Ann, he was extremely jealous of Greg. New guy, professional musician, and the ladies liked him. Attacked from the first post.
The old place was a LOT of fun, I've discussed with most of y'all for 20+ years! There were get togethers, showers (the party kind), well the other kind came up as well - right Ang?
There was a lot of good. Wounded Warriors was a fantastic project, but it too went south. Such a shame. I don't know the whole story, but just bits and pieces.
I had a real problem with people who would cut and paste, then never debate. Or post something, then just get really ugly is you didn't agree. It got old.
Rusty and I go back and forth, but we agree on a lot of things. What we don't agree on....we are a world apart.

Re: Remembering the Old Digest
I enjoyed the old DD, Hopper introduced me back in the late 90's I think.
It was entertainment for me. I can not believe how mad folks were getting over silly crap.
Never understood Paladin, I liked his knowledge but if you questioned or disagreed you became an instant enemy. Actually met Paladin
at one of Hoppers fish fry, along with Dub, Grouchy & his wife. All nice & pleasant people to be around.
Met several women on the ignorant side of the river once....Orph, Kathy I think & Baylorgradmom.....that was a blast!! Not sure of the rest.
Met Stemyn & Bubba out at the fireworks lot once.....thought they were nice as well. I think Bubba had it in for me cuz i was hoppers brother.
( bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda, bubba, jane fonda,)
I will never understand that to this day, I am sure alcohol was involved.
Car Guy was a hell of a nice guy & wonder about him from time to time
Grouchy, I will tell you a little known story about that fish fry.....My wife makes my dad chocolate chip cookies every time we go to see him.
When we pulled up to the fry, dad came and met us. We pulled the stuff out that we brought and thought nothing more about it. On the drive home
I told the wife I never got a cookie or even saw them. Apparently when dad grabbed the cookies he thought they were for him and packed them
away in his car.....we still laugh about that
As far as Zew freaks board I liked the lady who posted on there....dem views but she wasn't an A hole about it....she was sweet
I don't follow politics enough to argue what ya'll talk about everyday.
I know what I believe and thats good enough for me.
I miss the people and the care that was given......hell I celebrated the birth of my daughter on there. Will always be a special place....
Awwwwwwwww good memories.
Glad this place is here.....Thank you Steve

Car Guy's commercials are all over the radio out here..I guess he's nationwide, so must be doing very well.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.

I think I know who you are talking about. I think she had a couple of names on DD. One was Eve something. I can't remember how she spelled it but if you said it out loud it sounded like "evenin' all".
Re: Remembering the Old Digest
Remember Lone Blue Duck, he was pretty fun.
Re: Remembering the Old Digest
Well! I was googling something completely random and this board came up in my search!
Feel so nostalgic seeing (and missing!) everyone here.

Thanks, Redoak!
Re: Remembering the Old Digest
Jami, you can't believe how many times I've thought about Lone Blue Duck. I have 2 blue ducks sitting on a book case. I wish we knew what happened to him. It would be some kind of closure if we knew. Those ducks get dusted but I just can't get rid of them.

'Sides, those who attempt "balance us out" get called "turds" by RO. I'm thinking you don't want to join we "turds", Kathy.
