Two Model Ts still roaring
Re: Two Model Ts still roaring
My great-grandfather converted his blacksmith shop into one of the first gas stations (Gulf) in San Antonio sometime in the early 20th century. He also worked on cars. His son kept the business going until late 1986, when he retired, and sold the property to Chevron. Chevron bulldozed the lot and put in a convenience store. My great uncle was able to save all of his fathers blacksmith equipment, and today it is in a museum in Lockhart. Upon his death, my dad was offered his granddad's Model T tools; which he declined. At the time, he did not have a Model T. They ended up going to another great uncle, who was also a mechanic. At his death, I was offered the same tools. As I didn't have a Model T, I declined. I have no idea what happened to the tools; I hope someone was able to use them.
