Can someone identify this plant/flower?

Postby LibraryLady » Sat May 21, 2016 8:46 am

I purchased it at the DIscovery Garden plant sale several years ago.
I cannot remember the name of the plant.
Hummingbirds and butterflies like it.

I posted an inquiry on the Discovery garden FB page, but who knows when the message will be viewed.

Discovery Garden answered...

Mexican honeysuckle, or Justicia spicigera.

I apologize. You responded first with the correct name and the TDG responded, confirming your response.

I like it that we have plant gurus in our circle.

:D

I will tell more of the story of my plant. I visited Marti's house several years ago. I was admiring her gardens and she grabbed a shovel and dug into a couple of her plants and shared them with me. One was the Mexican Honeysuckle, it's still growing strong for me. I get to think of Marti every time I pass by the plant in my garden.

*shaking LL Jean's head*

Jami has always been the plant Guru LOL
Zephyr thinks he's smart. He said onions are the only food that makes him cry. So I threw a coconut at his face.
