I think it was a show called food detectives that did a show on MSG. Found a group of folks who claimed an allergy to MSG.
Split the room into two halves, one half got no MSG the other half got MSG.
Surprise the half with no MSG had the most symptoms, the half with regular MSG had no reaction.

MSG is delicious. It's made from soy and makes food taste better. It's an ingredient in many award-winning chili recipes.
When I was a child, I used to get an odd feeling like my temples were in a vise after eating food from a Chinese Restaurant. Many say it's attributable to eating a large amount of mono-sodium glutimate on an empty stomach, but I haven't gotten it for many years, even though I use MSG in dishes in the form of Accent and Goya Sauzon seasoning.
