What do you know, British voters will be required to show ID

I have read a lot of comments in British on-line websites and newspapers, including this one, about the racist Republican insistence that people voting in our elections should show who they are. Now, out of the blue, it is reported that the Brits are going to do the exact same thing.

Voters will be required to present a passport, drivers licence or utility bill when they go to the polls in a bid to tackle electoral fraud, The Telegraph understands.

Ministers are likely to introduce a pilot of the scheme amid concerns that people are impersonating genuine voters.

It comes after a report commissioned by Sir Eric Pickles, the former Conservative Cabinet minister, today warns that the authorities are in a “state of denial” and are “turning a blind eye” to election fraud.

Authorities are "turning a blind eye" there for the same reason they are here: Politics. Democrats are the likely beneficiaries of voter fraud, which has been a staple of Democrat politics since Andrew Jackson founded the party.
