Arlington lost it because Jerry World is in an "After the meetings" dead zone. They turned Dallas down early when they said there were no hotels, entertainment, eating spots, Etc. close to the stadium. And American Airlines arena is probably not high class enough for them.

Additionally, AA arena had limited open dates and GOP would have to bend to the arena. I'm sure the committee didn't like being told, "You can come on this date, but not that date."
