More prayer for BIL
Turn for worse in night.
Stroke. He can not speak, no vision in one eye...
They are doing brain scans to see what can be done.
Grouchy, will post on Kevin's board?
I don't do FB on phone.

He needs all the prayers possible.
They are sending him to FW to remove the blood clot. Could not fly him because of yesterdays surgery.

Re: More prayer for BIL
Thanks for sharing the info and soliciting prayers.
They have put him on a ventilator and evaluating what can be done regarding the stroke. He is in Plaza Medical in FW, where they are supposed to be top stroke care.
I am very worried (duh).

Oh no....I'm so sorry Librarylady. They probably couldn't give him the unclotting miracle drug because of his surgery. That would be way too dangerous. Many prayers for him, your sister and family. I have heard how great Plaza is so there is something to hold out hope because he'll get the best care possible. I think all your long term friends from Kevin's board are praying for him, too. We love you Librarylady!

Re: More prayer for BIL
Thank you.
Situation is grim. Dr. told us that next 3 days will tell the tale....and that it was such that he wanted my sister and the children to decide what they will do if the team says, 'no more."
He/dr. said it was not that dire yet, but could be and he wanted her prepared.

I think I see a tiny, tiny, tiny improvement since this afternoon. Keep praying, the guy has some years to go!

Re: More prayer for BIL
Thank you for your continued prayers.
Afib has stopped.
He has clots around...and they cannot give blood thinner at this time.
I am convinced that the cardiologist he was seeing in Denton is incompetent.
The man is 62 years old, has high cholesterol and HBP, but the doctor has never given him a stress test. I am dumbfounded on that information.
He last had a check up on Aug. 31st, and that dr. pronounced him good for a year.
2 years ago BIL had a fainting spell and the dr. just adjusted Rx--still no test for blockage.
IMO, that stress test should have been done to KNOW that he had no blockage to have caused the BP problems.
All this still might have happened, I know, but I still find it unreal that a stress test was never administered in the past.

He passed away at 6 this morning.
Mercifully fast after the ventilator was removed. His children were able to say good-bye.
We are all still stunned at what has happened.

--benefits of working in a small ISD.
The school did a memorial for him on Tuesday afternoon.
It is reported in this story:
The Wise County newspaper had a story about the memorial for Dennis that was at the school:

Then, on Wed, the school bused over the kids in grades 5-12 to attend the service.
On Thursday the school had a "dress like coach Stroud" day and later gave the kids a Dr. Pepper (his favorite drink).
Now, the healing will begin.
