Voters are stupid....look at the recent people elected President for proof. There were better candidates that were rejected during the primaries.

All news broadcast slant news, cable and broadcast. Blasting one doesn't change that fact.

It's one thing to slant news because of an unconscious bias. It's another thing to do it as a business strategy.

the "better" other candidates are being shown for the frauds they are. Ryan? talked a great game, but actions show otherwise. Cruz? Same as Ryan. Easy to promise, then never follow through. Do I like everything about Trump? No. At least he is actually DOING what he said he would and now we see who the frauds in congress really are.

They aren't alone in making stuff up....O'Reilly did about the Falklands and other things. of course someone will say prove it..Google it....

Rush lies by claiming to know what someone meant.....Trump and rigged election is one example

Do I need to continue pointing out how they all slant and I'll add lie.

i love TRUMP , much better than the rest of the democrat lite repubs and certainly better than ' hilary' . Trump and his twittering and fighting back is fine with me . Course , we only have about a year and a half to go before TRUMP leaves voluntarily , quits or leaves by other means [impeachment] according to some people eh ?? My hope is that USA politics has been changed for all times by President Trump JiP .

So it's the place a lie is said that is important Big Tex ?

When did Morning Joe become a news program ?

So if a non news show runs a lie it's ok ?

I need to understand where you draw the line ....

eta.....airports and hotels are CNN ok
banks are FOX

So what very few people get their news fix at a hospital or airport

For SS

Show me the difference between slanted news and making stuff up. For example: the recent kerfuffle with CNN
was not about 'making stuff up. It was about supervisors and writers not following the precedures. And you can
cry about that all you want to. It's a fact. (Not saying there was no contempt for the object of the story ..
hard to find that.)

There's a big difference between mistakes and making things up. I don't find much evidence of making
things up and I bet you don't either. Show me the money (uh, the mistakes).

I do not think you can!!!

John in Plano wrote:So it's the place a lie is said that is important Big Tex ? Rush Limbaugh is not a news show. He says at the top of his show every day that the show is about what he thinks. If you go to Rush for news, caveat emptor.

When did Morning Joe become a news program ? See above. Rush tells you his show is about what he thinks. What do they tell you at Morning Joe?

So if a non news show runs a lie it's ok ? See above. Caveat emptor

I need to understand where you draw the line .... I draw the line at any network show that calls itself news.

eta.....airports and hotels are CNN ok
banks are FOX

So what very few people get their news fix at a hospital or airport Some people have long waits in hospitals and airports.

Yeah, if you totally ignore foreign policy where he is doing the exact opposite of what he indicated his policy would be. Instead he has followed the failed policies of Bush and Obama like a lapdog.

Body language is important in a visual medium like television.

In my opinion, these people are not engaged the process of conveying facts.

So next question.

When information is omitted by news reporters is that a lie ?

and I'll use the canceled speech that people here ignored relevant facts concerning

I brought up the thread with the facts that were ignored...

I guess it depends on your definition of a lie.

I say stating something you know is false is a lie.

I don't believe withholding information that you know is lying, but it is deception. Reporters manipulate information all the time to shape a story.

An example: a newspaper runs a story that a man is at large after committing murder. They give a description, but the description does not include the fact that the man is black, a fact that is included in the police report and can be seen in surveillance video. A conscious editorial decision is made not to include that piece of information. We can all come to our own conclusions as to why. No lie was told, but important information was withheld.
