On October 22 The Telegraph published a map showing the U.S. leads the world in private firearm ownership but does not even crack the Top 10 when it comes to firearm-related deaths.

Where does it rank? Maybe because the US wasn't listed. I didn't find it in the article or on Wikipedia.

The problem with all these statistics is they all take different things into consideration.

Breitbart is taking all countries into the list, which is sorta misleading. South America has a huge gun problem from all the poverty and drug dealers, where as the European countries don't have that problem. Nearly all the countries on that list are in South America.

The US ranks high when you rank the countries by the socio-economic levels. Here's various charts, and you can draw your own conclusions from them.

Well, as long as you're being a bit picky about the "reasons" taken into consideration..how socio economics are important here, while we should take out drug related shootings in South America.. have you ever seen what happens to gun related deaths in the U.S. when you take out the black people?

Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns than people in other developed countries, a new study finds.

Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the United States' gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher. And, even though the United States' suicide rate is similar to other countries, the nation's gun-related suicide rate is eight times higher than other high-income countries, researchers said.

The study was published online Feb. 1 in The American Journal of Medicine.

"Overall, our results show that the U.S., which has the most firearms per capita in the world, suffers disproportionately from firearms compared with other high-income countries," said study author Erin Grinshteyn, an assistant professor at the School of Community Health Science at the University of Nevada-Reno. "These results are consistent with the hypothesis that our firearms are killing us rather than protecting us," she said in a journal news release.

Same could be said for the breitbart article to show the US ranks low. That's why I listed several articles. You can read the figures to suit whatever agenda you wish to push. I'm not pushing anyone to believe anything. Just to look at the other side, and then reach a conclusion, whatever that might be.

I'm not sure the white people have anything to brag about in this regard, but you can believe whatever you wish. Here's one article I found interesting in that regard:

Black-on-black murders: From 1980 through 2008, 93 percent of black victims were killed by black offenders, according to a 2011 report on homicide trends by the Bureau of Justice Statistics. It also says 84 percent of white victims were killed by white offenders.

In short, more often than not, people kill their loved ones, friends and neighbors — and since people of different racial backgrounds tend to live clustered together, they are far more likely to kill someone of their own race than someone of another race.

Very deceiving..all you did was show that most black people that kill..kill blacks..and most white people that kill..kill other whites.

The thing to do is..compare what share the first group (13% of the population) commit crimes..or kill. Then compare what share the other group..(70% of the population) commit crimes or kill people.

Then compare the statistics of black on white crime compared to white on black.

The original article simply showed that..the U.S. has very low murders for the amount of guns we have.

More importantly, more guns have meant less and less crime.

I submit these numbers would reverse with more and more or fewer and fewer black people..looking around the world shows that.
